The Mekmek resembles an Archaeopteryx or Microraptor, both equally ancient bird/dinosaur species which are the assumed predecessors or very near-cousins to contemporary birds (respectively), therefore the fowl-like appearance and features of your Mekmek. It's got a crest and enormous wings useful for gliding, skinny legs, and a thin prolonged tail.
